Wow! There are so many blogs out there! Where do you start? How do you keep up? Well, I learned about feed readers tonight. Some of you may already know about this, but this is new information to me. Once I found out about a few popular feed readers, I decided to go with Feedly.
Why Feedly, you might ask?
Well, first, it is free and second, it is easy to find and follow popular library blogs. Plus, I really liked the layout. It is easy to follow and organize the blogs. I like the options they have, such as reading the latest articles or new from the day, or flagging articles to read later. Feedly in my opinion, was the most user-friendly. Furthermore, I like how the most recent articles or blog posts were featured immediately.
Five Blogs I decided to follow:
1. AASL https://feedly.com/i/subscription/feed%2Fhttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.aasl.ala.org%2Faaslblews inog%2F%3Ffeed%3Drss2
The American Association of School Librarians has valuable, relevant, and cutting edge information for school librarians. The AASL includes the standards that all school librarians should follow. The articles include relevant information that includes best practices, technology, collections, and much more. Furthermore, the blog takes you to Knowledge Quest.
Here is a post I found relevant to today's subject: "Why blog in 2018?"

2. School Library Journal
https://feedly.com/i/subscription/feed%2Fhttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.slj.com%2Ffeed%2F
School Library Journal is a great place to find out about new books, award winners, and news in the library world. They review books and so much more. SLJ includes important resources for school librarians.
3. The Adventures of Library Girl
https://feedly.com/i/subscription/feed%2Fhttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.librarygirl.net%2Ffeeds%2Fposts%2Fdefault
First, I already follow Library Girl on Twitter and enjoy her Twitter posts. She shares inspirational stories, her work as a librarian, and books that she loves. It is a great place to become inspired to do the best you can every single day with students. Sometimes reading something inspirational gives you the push to try something new.
4. YALSAblog
https://feedly.com/i/subscription/feed%2Fhttp%3A%2F%2Ffeeds.feedburner.com%2Fyalsa_blog
My favorite genre to read personally is YA. This site will give me new reading ideas. But, beyond that, I will also read important information, news, and articles about middle and high school libraries. The articles are very informative and cutting-edge as well.
5. The Daring Librarian
https://feedly.com/i/subscription/feed%2Fhttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.thedaringlibrarian.com%2Ffeeds%2Fposts%2Fdefault
I decided to follow this blog because of her helpful librarian tips and hacks. It is always nice to get practical ideas from a seasoned librarian. Furthermore, she includes great books to share with students, technology tips and tricks, as well as some funny posts along the way. Her writing style is also humorous.
And finally...Tumblr
Tumblr is new to me. Of course, I have heard of it, but never previewed it or logged in to see what it is all about. Well, tonight I created an account and followed a few more librarian sites. I named it "literacy-etc". I have not posted anything yet, but it was interesting to see all of the different accounts that librarians around the country have. Maybe when I have more time this summer, I may use this a little more.

As I learn more and more about technology, I am amazed at everything that is out there!
Happy Blogging!
